Colocasia esculenta ‘Lemon-Lime Gecko’ is a 2013 Brian Williams elephant ear hybrid that produces a 4.5′ tall clump of upright dark purple stems, each marked with flesh colored streaks. The leaves are green with lime green spots…quite a stunning specimen.

Colocasia esculenta ‘Lemon Lime Gecko’ is an older hybrid bred in 2013 by Brian Williams also from the US.  This one has darker burgundy stems.  Its distinctive feature is the appearance of the foliage where the green leaves have gold spots with the dark green and lime green.  Another unique feature is the appearance of burgundy dots in the center of the leaves.  However, the stems have black steaks with a striped appearance.

This particular colocasia is very similar to older versions such as Black Magic, Black Coral, and Black Ripple that were introduced to the plant market in those years. Therefore, this plant is now considered a common plant and the price of the plant is very affordable compared to the recently cultivated hybrid plants.
